Meet Momar Njai, author and storyteller.
Momar is from Gambia’s famous Njai family of The Lion House. He is the son of one of Gambia’s most prominent figures, Alieu Momarr Njai, Chairman of the IEC (Independent Electoral Commission), and former Major of KMC. Momar’s great grandfather Sayer Jobe founded Serrekunda, which is the largest city in The Gambia. Following a military coup in 1994, the prominent Njai family saw its fortunes diminish and some members including Momar went into exile in the US where he’s lived for the past two decades. He currently lives in the San Francisco Bay area. Shadows Of Exile-Return Of The African King is a novel inspired by his experiences.
